First of all, I would like to apologise for the late report as we encountered some misunderstanding and the devotee who was supposed to be sending the report could not do it on time.
Please find below a report of Gurumaharaj’s Vyas Puja Celebration 2017.Some photos have also been attached for viewing:
Preparations for Gurumaharaj’s Vyas Puja started very much before the 4th of July. Actually during our monthly disciple meeting, on 15th March 2017, we started planning for this Mahotsav. We requested disciples and well wishers to write their offering letters and a deadline ws set (Mid May 2017) for collecting the offering letters. Somewhere we were also a bit confused whether Gurumaharaj’s Vyas Puja should be celebrated on 4th or 5th July as Ekadashi was on 5th(Mauritian Vaisnava Calendar). Finally, it was decided that it would be celebrated on the 4th just like in India.
The venue was finalized: Sri Sri Krsna Balram Mandir, Vrindavan, Bon Acceuil, Mauritius.
Everyone was assigned a service and a menu list for 800 persons was prepared.
Some of the services were assigned as follows:
Cooking team – Vrsbhanu das, Vaman das, Gokuleshwar das and others.
Internet connection and Skype – Sacitanaya das and Dayasindhu das
Decoration – Jankinath das
Pujaris – Neelancal das and Naranarayan das
MC – Kaunteya das
Sound System and Kirtan – Ayodhyanath das
Plates and cups – Shatrughna das
Gurumaharaj’s Photoframe on altar – Vrsbhanu das
Poster for invitation – Ramcharan das
Flowers – Raghuvar das and Ojasvi Madhavi devi dasi
On the eve, many devotees met to cut vegetables and to decorate the temple.
On the day of the Mahotsav, many disciples attended Mangal Arti and started with the preparations.
The official program started at 1 pm sharp with the welcome address, followed by kirtan for around 20 minutes.
By 13 20, disciples started reading their offering letters, starting with HG Nrsimhavatar das from India. Around 10 more disciples read their offering letters: Rasakrda devi dasi, Ojasvi devi dasi, Jagadambika devi dasi, Bhakta Anup, Murtiman das, Krsnasakha das, Dasavatara das, Devakisuta das, Naranarayan das (in Hindi) and Gajendra Moksha das (in Marathi).
Then our guest speakers gave their speech of appreciation: HG Sanatan Dharma das, HG Nrsimha Tirtha das and HG Naranarayan das.
Ecstatic kirtans were performed by the kirtaniyas throughout the program.
A video depicting Gurumaharaj’s message on Vraj Mandal Parikrama was also broadcasted.
Bhoga offering was scheduled for 14 00 with ongoing kirtan.
By 15 30 Pushpanjali was performed (lead by HG Panca Tattva das). Arti was performed by 16 15 and Prasad was served during the same time as many guests had to leave early as they had to travel by bus.
