Hare Krishna dear devotees,
Please accept our humble obeisances
All glories to Srila Prabhupada
All glories to Guru Maharaj
On the 27th July 2015 we finally got the opportunity to celebrate the much awaited auspicious Vyasa puja celebration. The Vyasa puja celebration took place at Bhaktivedanta manor and started at 5 pm. The programme started with Srila Gurudev’s melodious kirtan which was played on screen.
At 5.30 pm, we were honoured and blessed by the presence of HG Dhananjaya prabhu who is a dear disciple of Srila Prabhupada and one of Gurudev’s godbrother. He is the key devotee who found the manor which was later purchased by George Harrison. HG Dhananjaya prabhu was happy to be our special guest speaker as it was his birthday on the same day. Jay!
HG Dhananjaya prabhu transported all of us to the parikrama marg. He narrated the transcendental padayatra experience he had when he participated in one of the major padayatra organised by Srila Gurudev. He could still remember the warm welcome of the villagers as the padayatra progressed. There were festivals organised by the villagers and the devotees were staying at night in different places. He also narrated how devotees were walking miles every day and their enthusiasm was not dampened by exhaustion as there was a pervasive transcendental atmosphere during the whole padayatra.
HG Dhananjaya prabhu also brought a padayatra journal with him and he said he was proud to have a personal copy as these journals were not easily accessible. He mentioned the project of Iskcon on the occasion of its 50th anniversary to organise 50 padayatras all over the world. At the end of the lecture we also talked about the release of The Vraj Mandala Darshan book and an advertisement was displayed on the wall.
After our journey from the padayatra, disciples got the opportunity to present their offerings and glorify Srila Gurudev. Trinadapi prabhu then sung the guru puja and mataji Radha Shakti performed the arti. We were then able to shower flowers at the lotus feet of Srila Gurudev.
The programme ended with ekadasi feast and the opportunity to associate with devotees and disciples. Among the preparations, there was coconut cake, Ras malai, cookies, ekadasi pancakes, various sabjis, mango milkshake, varieties of fruits and nuts. We do feel blessed to be able to take part in such an auspicious event. All glories to all the devotees who participated in this event and made it possible.
